Police investigate assault on woman in Westminster

MIRRABOOKA Detectives are searching for a man who assaulted a woman in Westminster on Wednesday.

About 5.30am on February 27, a woman in her 20s was walking on a pathway along Wanneroo Road.

As she approached Amberley Way, a man grabbed her from behind and dragged her to the ground.

The victim tried to push him away and was punched in the face several times.

She called for help and managed to break free, before running away along Wanneroo Road.

She received minor injuries.

The man is described as dark-skinned, about 170cm tall, with a slim build.

He was last seen wearing a light blue and black shorts and a cap.

Detectives would like to speak to witnesses in the area who may have seen the man or have dash-cam footage of the man.
