Police investigate robbery at jewellery shop in The Square Mirrabooka

A MAN has been charged with allegedly stealing jewellery from Prouds in The Square Mirrabooka shopping centre last week.

At 12.33am on January 31, offenders allegedly smashed a glass door to force their way into Prouds.

A spokeswoman for The Square Mirrabooka confirmed the incident.

“The incident is a police matter and we are assisting the WA Police with the investigation,” she said.

A WA Police spokeswoman said significant damage was caused after the glass counters were smashed and several items were allegedly stolen.

“Police attended and located one of the alleged offenders in a nearby reserve,” she said.

“A 38-year-old man has been charged with burglary with intent, burglary and commit and stealing.

“Inquiries will continue to locate the other offenders involved in the incident.”

The man will reappear before Joondalup Magistrates Court on March 13.
