Kristie LimEastern Reporter

POLICE are investigating an out-of-control 18th birthday party attended by about 250 people in Caversham at the weekend.

About 9pm on November 17, police were called to a property on Bennett Street after they received several reports of anti-social and disorderly behaviour involving large groups of young people.

Police were confronted by about 250 people aged between 12 and 20 years before they declared the party an out-of-control gathering.

The party host was a 17-year-old girl who had no responsible adult in attendance and charged an entrance fee.

Officers from the Regional Operations Group and Canine Section assisted by dispersing the crowd from the area to restore order.
