General manager Connie Peng said the tablets, which were used by customers to order dishes, cost about $300 each.

“That night, the tablets were left out on the table to charge by accident, which they shouldn’t have been,” she said.

“They have been replaced.”

Ms Peng said they made an insurance claim to replace the glass on the day.

“Our contractor was out there to replace the panel straight away,” she said.

“The glass is about 1cm thick…the guy spent quite a while breaking into it.”

Police are investigating and are asking anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or make a report online.
