Police seeking men over violent Mirrabooka carjacking

POLICE are looking for a man after a violent carjacking in Mirrabooka last night.

About 6.50pm a 28-year-old man was driving west along Beach Road in a black Volkswagen Jetta when he stopped at traffic lights at the intersection of Butterworth Avenue.

A white Toyota Kluger pulled alongside and a male passenger exited the vehicle.

He walked over to the Jetta, opened the driver’s door and demanded property.

He punched the driver multiple times to the head and body before dragging him out of the vehicle.

Once on the ground, the victim observed another passenger of the Kluger pointing at him what he believed was a gun.

His Jetta was then stolen, travelling westerly on Beach Road, followed by the Kluger.

The vehicles – a black 2011 model Volkswagen Jetta, registration 1GFA 299 and a  white 2017 model Toyota Kluger, registration 1 GJC 559 – have not been found.

Anyone that sees either of these vehicles is asked not to approach, but to call police immediately on 131 444. Anyone that has information in relation to this incident is asked to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or to make a report online at crimestopperswa.com.au
