Bayswater Primary’s art gives airport a lift at Christmas

Along with children from four other Perth schools, the Bayswater students brightened Christmas trees at the terminal with their handmade decorations.

Perth Airport corporate affairs general manager Fiona Lander said the annual competition was now in its seventh year.

“The competition provides a great opportunity for local students to get involved in a community project that contributes to the festive season and provides a bit of Christmas cheer for travellers,” Ms Lander said.

“We were pleased to welcome the groups of students to T3 and hope they enjoyed making their Christmas creations just as much as passengers and visitors to the airport will enjoy viewing the beautiful trees.”

The trees are on display on level one in the departures lounge.

Members of the public, passengers and staff can vote for their favourite tree by completing an entry form and placing it in the ballot box near the trees.

Voting closes on Wednesday, December 16, at 4pm.

The winning school will be presented with a cheque for $1000 to spend on art and craft supplies in 2016.

The trees will remain on display until early January 2016.
