Reid Highway closed after fatal Mirrabooka crash

A SECTION of Reid Highway remains closed after a fatal traffic crash in Mirrabooka overnight.

The single-vehicle crash took place just after 2am on the westbound lanes of Reid Highway between Alexander Drive and Mirrabooka Avenue.

Police say a silver Kia sedan left the road about 500m before the Mirrabooka Avenue exit and hit a sign and a power pole.

The driver, a man believed to be in his 20s, was taken to Royal Perth Hospital by St John Ambulance but died from his injuries.

That section of the road remains closed this morning as police investigate the crash.

Drivers should avoid the area.
