A GROUP of local kids will be riding for a cause this weekend, to help a school friend raise money for delicate spinal surgery.
Keira was born with a form of cerebral palsy known as spastic diplegia, meaning her leg muscles are always contracted.
This affects her strength, stamina and balance when she is trying to walk.

Now Keira has been selected to undergo specialist spinal surgery at the Westmeade Hospital in Sydney.
The treatment is most successful in younger children and are already independently mobile in some way.
Keira’s family is trying to raise money for the surgery and her recovery afterwards.
Keira’s mate Charlize wanted to do something to help her, and so the Ride for Keira was born.
Charlize and the rest of her kindy classmates will be riding around Leederville’s Britannia Reserve on Sunday, seeing how many laps of the mile-long circuit they can handle – no small feat for the five and six-year-olds.
Charlize’s mum, Stacey Barnes, has launched a GoFundMe page to try and raise money to help pay for Keira’s surgery.
