Bayswater Stabbing Closes Road

AN 18-YEAR-OLD man was stabbed in the chest in Bayswater yesterday morning, causing Garratt Street to be closed for investigations.

Police found a 41-year-old man with injuries including an arm wound at the scene, understood to be the younger man’s attacker.

Police attended at 11.30am and found a third man, aged 44, who suffered a medical emergency and was also taken to hospital by St John Ambulance.

The three people were known to each other.

Later on Sunday, a 19-year-old Ballajura man allegedly robbed a house in Dianella, led police on a chase before crashing into a brick wall in Morley.

At 4.45pm police were alerted about a burglary at Light Street, Dianella.

A blue Holden Commodore with stolen license plates was used during the burglary.

The driver failed to stop for police when leaving a car wash in Morley at 6.50pm.

He then allegedly tried to manoeuvre between two vehicles driving next to each other on Morley Drive and a collision caused one of the three, a Toyota Rav4, to collide with the front porch of a residence.

The house and car were damaged but the driver and passenger were not injured.

The second vehicle, a Toyota Yaris, stopped on the median strip and the driver was not injured.

The vehicle with stolen plates collided with a brick wall at another residence and the resulting debris damaged two vehicles parked nearby.

The 19-year-old tried to run but could not jump the fence with a broken arm.

He was charged with burglary, stealing, gains benefit by fraud, endangering the safety of another person, two counts of reckless driving, three counts of failing to stop and two counts of no authority to drive.
