Phone for a furry friend can help RSPCA

Kristie LimEastern Reporter

RSPCA’s reloved and op shops have launched their Phones for Furry Friends initiative ahead of Global Recycling Day on March 18.

The initiative, which runs through March, calls on people to drop off old mobile phones in store to be recycled.

Phones will be sold to a recycling company to raise funds to help rescue, rehabilitate and re-home animals suffering from cruelty and neglect.

Anyone who brings in a phone will receive a $5 voucher to spend at any of RSPCA’s six retail stores.

Reloved stores are in North Perth, Subiaco and Fremantle, and there are op shops in Mirrabooka, Bibra Lake and Port Kennedy.

Retail operations manager Hazel Thaw said the initiative was the perfect opportunity for people to embrace Global Recycling Day and help abused and neglected animals.
