Search for Ballajura Woman Continues

THE search for a Ballajura kayaker continues today, after the 48-year-old went missing on the Blackwood River yesterday.

Police were advised Susan Quick was missing at 11.15am Sunday morning on the river about 5.5km west of Bridgetown.

Water police, State Emergency Services volunteers, local bush fire brigade and police officers from Manjimup, Bridgetown, Nannup, Donnybrook and Busselton are searching the water and riverbanks.

Ms Quick’s family said she was a loving mother, sister and daughter.

“She is a passionate and strong woman and a state champion kayaker,” the statement said.

“We are extremely saddened by the events of yesterday and are hopeful of news today; we would like to thank all the volunteers assisting in trying to locate Susan.”
