Shark swim for Boo Boo

Staff ReporterEastern Reporter

Trent D’Silva was just 15 when he died from a brain tumour six months ago.

But before his death, Trent and his family swam with the sea’s largest fish at Ningaloo and to honour his memory a seven-metre whale shark has been named Boo Boo in his honour.

‘Boo Boo was the nickname Trent was given by his sister, Courtney,’ Trent’s mum Leonna said.

His dad Malcolm said it was a peaceful and humbling experience for his family to swim with the massive, but graceful whale sharks.
