Little Italy kicked off over the weekend with a street festival and more Italian-themed fun is around the corner with Italian Live Lounge on February 20 at the Swan Districts Football Club.

Organised by Bassendean resident Nella Fitzgerald, the celebration of Italian culture will feature music and food.

“Throughout history, music has been an integral part of Italian culture, and the traditional music of Italy has long been used as a symbol of this,” Ms Fitzgerald said.

“Italian Live Lounge will bring the modern music of Italy to the forefront and introduce it at large to the multicultural community of WA.”

Backed by a professional band of musicians and backing vocalists, singer Monique will showcase some of the biggest hits in the Italian contemporary music scene from the 1990s to present day, interpreting songs by artists including Laura Pausini, Giorgia, Annalisa Minetti, Alexia, Dirotta su Cuba and Marina Rei.
