A SMOKE warning has been issued as an industrial waste facility burns east of Perth.
Thick smoke is spewing from Cleanaway’s Perth Material Recovery Facility, on Hyne Road in South Guildford, which caught alight just after 9am.
DFES says 130 personnel are on the ground fighting the fire.

Parts of Hyne Road have been closed and Kalamunda Road has been closed between Great Eastern Highway and the Great Eastern Highway bypass.

As a precautionary measure people in the area should remain inside, out of the smoke or fumes with doors and windows closed. Air conditioners should be switched off.
