Also, SmartLink Smartphone connectivity, including Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, is standard, likewise a reversing camera.

The Monte Carlo has sports suspension and comes with a 1.2litre turbocharged four-cylinder 81kW/ 175Nm engine and a 7-speed DSG transmission.

For the first time, the Monte Carlo variant is also available in a wagon body style, for an extra $1150 RRP on the $23,490 base price of the hatch.

The wagon offers luggage capacity of 505 litres with the rear seats up, expandable to 1370 litres with the seats folded down.

There’s also a $1800 optional Tech Pack with radar-based adaptive cruise control, keyless entry and start, rear parking sensors, Climatronic airconditioning and other comfort and safety systems.

Skoda’s hot little Fabia Monte Carlo has style, pep and extra features for 2017.
