Subway giving away free subs, feeding the needy this week

Staff WriterEastern Reporter

SUBWAY will help feed Australia’s hungry – and you – in its ‘Live Feed’ event this Friday November 3 to mark World Sandwich Day.

Simply buy a sub, get a free sub for a friend and Subway will make a donation to Foodbank so they can provide a meal to someone less fortunate.

Each year, Foodbank deliver more than 63 million meals to Australians seeking hunger relief.

“We are expecting to feed hundreds of thousands of Aussies seeking hunger relief through Subway ‘Live Feed’, and we are thrilled to be a part of this exciting campaign,” Foodbank Australia CEO Brianna Casey said.

“Hunger relief is such an important issue globally, as well as in Australia, where 15 per cent of the population has experienced food insecurity in the last 12 months.

“It’s terrific that Subway will be helping us put food on the plates for vulnerable Australians and their families.”

The charity day will be occurring across more than 1450 Subway shops across Australia.
