Success Hill: rogue roos jump into mischief

Kristie LimEastern Reporter

A PAIR of kangaroos have been spotted hopping around the residential areas in Success Hill today.

The Town’s rangers received several calls about the kangaroos, which were seen on the river’s edge north of Guildford Road and continuing their way into the Success Hill Railway Station reserve.

Town of Bassendean chief executive Bob Jarvis said one of the kangaroos was successfully relocated to a safe, nearby bushland.

“To ensure it was removed from the danger within the railway reserve, rangers assisted the Public Transport Authority with the safe capture and transport of one of the kangaroos as the other had run off and disappeared,” he said.

Mr Jarvis said he hoped the pair could reunite and stay safe out of the way of vehicles, residents and trains.
