Survival story inspires

The 27-year-old who became trapped in a horrific grassfire after participating in a 100km ultra-marathon in September 2011, shared her incredible story, inspiring others "not to give up" and to "unleash the tiger" in us all.

Pitt a former model and mining engineer with Rio Tinto suffered burns to 65 per cent of her body and has endured more than 200 surgical procedures including reconstructive surgery for her nose.

Telling the audience "only when we have a crack" did we know what we are capable of and encouraged everyone to make the most of life.
