Target UnitingCare Christmas Appeal underway

Greig JohnstonEastern Reporter

THE Target UnitingCare Christmas Appeal is underway, helping put food on the tables and presents under the trees of those doing it tough in Perth.

While some families are concerned with holidays, bikes or the latest video game console, some are battling just to get enough to eat.

UnitingCare West CEO Amanda Hunt said that for Australians living in poverty, Christmas was often a time of deep stress.

“We want everyone to enjoy a special Christmas,” she said.

To make a difference, visit a Target store and purchase $2 gift tag ‘baubles’, or $3 gift boxes in the lead-up to Christmas, with proceeds used to provide emergency relief for those in crisis.

You can also purchase a gift to leave under the Christmas tree in your Target store, which will be included in UnitingCare West’s gift packs.
