FOODIES in the Mirrabooka area will gain more dining options as part of upgrade works worth $3.2 million at The Square shopping centre.

The centre has proposed to build a new alfresco dining precinct, relaunch its fresh food precinct and revitalise its food court.

There will also be an outdoor children’s playground.

John’s Fish Mart, Mirrabooka Bakery, Mirrabooka Fresh, Shaheen Store and The Meat Giants will be renovated as part of the fresh food precinct.

Centre manager Allana Edwards said construction was expected to start in mid-2019 and completed in late 2019.

“There will be a combination of new and existing tenancies which are still being confirmed,” she said.

“The Fresh Food precinct will see our existing retailers refurnished with a brand new look.”

She said the upgrades would provide customers with a modern gathering place to enjoy fresh food shopping and experience fantastic dining options.

The Metro North-West Joint Development Assessment Panel will consider the development application at its February 8 meeting.
