But that is just what eight-year-old Angus Richards of Beechboro did when his friend’s bicycle chain came off just before a super series event in Northam on August 18 this year.
‘After the race, I told him that was very nice of him and he told me that it was his friend and he didn’t want him to miss out,’ his mum Michelle Lizars said.
Angus races his BMX at the Westside BMX Club in Balcatta.
‘He has competed at the national BMX championships in Brisbane, where he got through to the semi finals, (and) at the WA BMX State titles this year, where he placed second, after having to fight his way back after being penalised,’ she said.
Michelle believed her son was a great HBF Hero candidate because he encouraged his fellow riders, was humble and had a fantastic attitude towards the sport he loves.
