TOWN of Bassendean will seek the community’s input in assessing sporting ovals, club amenities and boating infrastructure as part of a planning study.
Planning consultant AECOM Australia Pty Ltd was hired to conduct a community facilities, ovals and reserves audit and needs assessment.
Two community forums, an online survey, workshops and meetings will be part of the consultation process.

READ NOWMayor John Gangell said the Town encouraged the provision of accessible facilities.
“This planning study will provide valuable data that will inform council on the current usage, condition and needs of the Town’s facilities and with the changing demographic of the Town, it is important that we stay in touch with the needs of the community,” he said.
The final report is expected to be completed in July and will include recommendations in facility provision and factors that need to be considered in providing new or upgraded facilities.
Two community forums were held at the Bassendean Community Hall on May 10.
The survey is available on the Town’s website at http://www.bassendean.wa.gov.au/news/community-facilities-ovalsreserves-audit-and-needs-assessment/76.
The survey closes on May 28, with hard copies available at the Old Perth Road Markets, library and volunteers centre
