Trio attacked with homemade flamethrower

A MAN wielding a homemade flamethrower has been arrested and charged after allegedly attacking three people.

Police said the man was agitated and armed himself with an aerosol can and a cigarette lighter.

He allegedly used the flame to burn all three victims at a house on Ardagh Avenue in Kalgoorlie.

Police said the alleged attack happened at around 3.45pm on Sunday.

The female victim had extensive burns to her left arm, left hand, back and neck. The two male victims had burns to their neck, ears, arms and hands.

A spokeswoman for WA Police said all the people involved knew each other.

“Kalgoorlie Detectives had charged a man after a serious incident in Kalgoorlie on Sunday,” she said.

“A 31-year-old man from Kalgoorlie was charged with three counts of unlawful act or omission with intent to harm, endangering life, health or safety of any person.

“He is due to appear in the Kalgoorlie Magistrates’ Court on Monday.”
