TWO 16-year-old boys are in hospital after a police chase involving an unregistered off-road motorcycle yesterday morning.

Police spotted the bike being ridden by two people on Northwood Drive, Mirrabooka, at 9.50am on Thursday morning.

Officers lost sight of the bike after it failed to stop, before the Police Air Wing helicopter found it again in the Koondoola area.

Police claim the bike failed to stop again before they lost sight of it for a second time.

The helicopter continued to track the bike through multiple suburbs until it collided with a caravan being towed in Parkwood.

Officers on the ground gave first aid to a 16-year-old boy, who was transferred to Royal Perth Hospital with head injuries.

A second 16-year-old boy had left the scene, but when he was found by police at a house in Parkwood was taken to hospital for treatment for an arm injury.
