Two men charged over series of armed robberies throughout Perth

TWO men have been charged over a spate of armed robberies in the metropolitan area in June.

A 45-year-old man from Alexander Heights and a 25-year-old man from Clarkson have both been charged with three counts of aggravated armed robbery and one count of stealing a motor vehicle.

In the first incident, on Thursday June 23, a number of items were stolen during a burglary in Tapping, including a white 2013 Hyundai Veloster coupe.

Then, sometime between Friday June 24 and Monday June 27, number plates were stolen from a vehicle at a car yard on Leach highway, Melville.

On the night of Monday June 27, a man entered a service station on Illawarra Crescent allegedly armed with a machete before demanding cigarettes.

The same night, there was allegedly a similar incident at a service station on Albany Highway in Gosnells, with a man demanding cash and cigarettes.

Then on Tuesday June 28, a man allegedly entered a service station in Currambine armed with a machete, demanding cash and cigarettes.

In two of the three robberies the alleged perpetrator was seen leaving the scene in a white vehicle.

The two men have been refused bail and were due to appear in Perth Magistrates Court on Friday.
