TWO women were robbed at gunpoint last night on the streets of Maylands.

At about 8.45pm a man approached a woman walking on Caledonian Avenue.

After stopping his vehicle, he threatened her with a gun before stealing her handbag.

Shortly afterwards the man, holding what appeared to be a double-barrel shotgun, approached a woman outside a restaurant in East Street.

The man had his face covered with a grey cloth, but was wearing a hooded jumper.

He ordered the woman to hand over her purse but she ran back into the restaurant.

The man left in a dark coloured car.

The suspect is described as 175cm tall with a medium build, olive or dark skin and spoke with an Australian accent.
