DOZENS of stand-up paddlers are expected to don their best Halloween costumes as part of a parade through the waters of Maylands, Burswood and East Perth.

Bassendean-based SUP Tonic Australia founder Maree Martin is holding the Witches and Warlocks Halloween Parade on October 27 from 3.30pm to 6.30pm.

Paddlers will launch from the East Street Jetty, in front of the Maylands Yacht Club before paddling past Optus Stadium and Claisebrook Cove in East Perth.

The 5km parade will finish at Bardon Park in Maylands where paddlers can order food from Annie’s Wood Fired Pizza van.

Ms Martin said 30 people took part in last year’s parade and she hoped to get 40 people on the water this year.

“This will be our third Halloween event and we hope that each it will grow to be spectacular community activity,” she said.

“Halloween dress code is mandatory along with a sense of humour and some feisty attitude if we come into a turbulent headwind.”

Tickets cost $35 including board hire and $15 for those with a board.
