Woman Involved in Fatal Crash

WA POLICE believe a Bassendean resident died in a car crash this morning in Williams, 170kms southeast of Perth.

Police are seeking help from the public about the fatal crash which occurred about 6.39am.

It is understood a black Mazda 6 hatchback travelling south along Albany Highway and a white/black Freightliner Truck travelling north collided.

Police believe the Mazda, driven by a 31-year-old woman, veered into the path of the truck and both vehicles impacted heavily.

The woman received fatal injured and died at the scene.

The driver of the Freightliner Truck, a 50-year-old man from Williams, received minor injuries.

Police would like so speak to anyone who saw either vehicle prior to the crash or the crash itself.
