The former Embleton resident performs throughout Europe as part of Belgium-based circus collective 15feet6.

At age five, Molendijk started training as a gymnast at Star-Mites Gym in Bayswater and she was accepted into the WA Institute of Sport at age eight.

But performing was her passion from an early age and after high school she spent two years touring North America with Cirque du Soleil.

Returning to Australia for a series of performances, Molendijk (20) is back training at Star Mites in preparation for the Joondalup Festival this weekend.

Molendijk said 15feet6’s performances comprised circus acts on Russian bar, Chinese pole, aerial hoop and teeterboard.

‘It has been an amazing experience travelling around the world and doing something you love.

‘I don’t even feel like I am working because I get to do my hobby every day.’
