IN what is literally the most ridiculous thing to hit the internet in 2018 – and that’s saying something – a simple audio clip has sent shockwaves through the online world.
Shared by YouTube vlogger Cloe Coutoure, the seemingly simple clip has divided online users across the globe – and has a whole lot more asking why.
What do you hear?! Yanny or Laurel pic.twitter.com/jvHhCbMc8I

The divide appears to occur when people either hear the word Yanny or the word Laurel.
Experts are also divided on the cause of the phenomenon, however some say it depends on the pitch to which you are most accustomed.
Others still are left wondering if this is in fact the End of Days.
I also can only hear Yanny, regardless of pitch , source etc (I have spent far too long trying to hear Laurel)

Literally everything at my show just stopped to see if people hear Laurel or Yanny. I hear Laurel. https://t.co/efWRw1Gj0L

Sometimes yanny. Other times laurel. At 1 point, it was yanny in left ear phone & then laurel when I switched to right side. Then went back to laurel in both.
If something to do w/ pitch, why it not constant through same device?
