Balloons kill

Staff ReporterEastern Reporter

Balloons are a very dangerous hazard to all the birds and other creatures that live in rivers, seas and other waterways.

When the balloons deflate, various creatures ingest them or they become entangled in their beaks, legs, wings or body thereby causing immense suffering.

A more worthwhile gesture to mark or remember a sad or happy occasion would be to plant a native shrub or tree, which is a lasting and living tribute to someone, as well as being a ‘thank you’ to Mother Nature for sustaining us during our life on this Earth.
