Bayswater station work endangering cyclists

Clarke Hendry, BassendeanEastern Reporter

AFTER hearing about all the wonderful facilities that are going to be provided in the future, the works at Bayswater railway station have caused an even more dangerous situation for cyclists.

Previously cyclists had to interface with parking cars but they are now forced on to a road.

A proper traffic management plan for the closure of the access would have identified this issue and provided at the least an extension of the footpath on the north side of Whatley Crescent.

This short-term issue requires to be addressed immediately with the long-term solution being a dual use path parallel to the railway as at Maylands.
