Council circus

FORGIVE me if I’m wrong, but I must be missing something.

I thought when a councillor was voted on to council it was to represent all the ratepayers within the council chambers.

Instead, we have a councillor dressing up in a World War I army uniform, grandstanding and using the chamber for his own agenda.

Why was this councillor not reprimanded, disciplined or removed from the chamber?

Maybe for the next council meeting those in the public gallery should don clown outfits and treat the chamber like a circus.

Let’s hope when this council merges with a larger, more respectful one, we won’t see this discourteous behaviour again. Lift your game Bassendean council.
