I WOULD like to say thank you to the gentleman and his passenger who, on Saturday, May 18 around midday, when travelling down Malaga Drive away from Marshall/Beach Road, got the attention of the driver of the 344 bus going to Morley and got him to stop.
They told the bus driver that one of the bus’ rear tyres was on fire and on hearing this, the driver got the fire extinguisher and they went to the back of the bus.
In the meantime, we all moved well away, and boy did the bus smell of burning rubber.
The driver of the car then left, the driver of the bus got a replacement sent and we all continued on our journey with no further drama.
The prompt action of the car driver and his passenger averted what could have been a dangerous situation, and quite frankly, saying thank you is not really enough, however that is the best I can do.
