WHAT a uniting and uplifting suggestion from an election candidate who suggested moving Australia Day to a Wattle Day.
Yes, let us all celebrate the green and gold and what is fabulous about Australia while acknowledging on January 26 our First Nation’s dispossession and pain.
And while we are at it, let us have a new flag and national anthem that represents all of us.
I for one am not young nor girt by sea. Let us have Peter Allen’s “I Still Call Australia Home”.
