ON reading the Eastern Reporter, one would think an election is imminent because an advert by Councillors Gangell and Pule has appeared over several weeks.
The slogan Community first and foremost rings hollow because neither of them has taken any notice of the communitys expressed opposition and or concern on several issues.
Mayor Gangell, when he took office, cancelled the monthly mayors column that was there for no other reason than to keep the community informed.
Instead, we have been confronted almost weekly with his picture in the paper. When a mayor treats residents with respect, no matter who they are or how much he may dislike their questions, and leads the council to listen to community opinion, pictures arent necessary.
The community will know who you are and respect you.
