In addition, make sure that your dog has plenty of water and shade and soft beds at home. Whether they are a totally inside or outside dog or a dog who has access through a pet door to both, they need lots of water in a container that cannot be knocked over.

Finally, please for heaven’s sake do not tie the dog up outside because if it gets tangled in the rope/leash it might get stuck out in the sun and die there before you get home.
