Injustice continues

BEVAN and JENNIE CARTER, BassendeanEastern Reporter

THE peaceful and well-attended rally on the steps of Parliament House by former residents and supporters of the Swan Valley Nyungah Community, as reported in last week’s edition headlined ‘Call to get back home at Caversham”, drew attention to the appalling injustice of the eviction of innocent women and children from their homes through no fault of their own.

In what seems to be a heartless retaliation for the rally, a week later the State Government had the houses that the community built in 1998 demolished.

The question remains: why does this Government persist in persecuting this community?
