The conversation went like this:
‘Do you sell stamps?’
‘What are stamps?’
‘So I can post a letter.’
‘You want to post a letter, why?’
I realised that there was a vast generation gap between us and then sought to put it into modern-day words.
‘I need a stamp so that I can send a letter by snail mail.’
‘I’ve never sent a letter by snail mail. I use my mobile phone and text.’
In the 20 years since the internet was born it has come to dominate nearly all facets of our life.
I wonder what the next 20 years will bring.
Will we be able to transport ourselves to meet people instead of texting messages?
