THE lack of respect given to such a significant day as Remembrance Day is disgusting. People need to realise the day is just as important as Anzac Day, D-Day and others in the case of the World Wars.
To have music playing, to continue talking, to show no effort of stopping and standing still and giving a minutes’ silence to those who have given their lives, shed blood and continue to fight for our great country is appalling.
I am so very proud of my two daughters who have been shown the right way to celebrate days like these. Even more proud that amongst those who did nothing, my four-year-old daughter stood with her head bowed and gave thought to those who have served our country.
She may not yet understand why, but she still does it.
Lest We Forget.
