Opinion: Overjoyed plan for King William St ‘dethroned’

I was overjoyed to read that the proposed plan for 9 and 11 King William St has been “dethroned” as reported in the Eastern Reporter.

I signed a petition against it.

Staff at a local business were collecting signatures from those aghast as such an ugly, grandiose plan for the site.

Many were aware that a magnificent Jacaranda tree which is over 60 years old situated at the rear of the property would be chopped down.

Bayswater has lost enough heritage buildings from short-sightedness in the past.

We don’t want or need vultures in the form of property developers buggering up our streetscapes and village ambience with their hideous “plastic” monstrosities – high density living, more cars?
