Opinion: Woolworths loading bay danger at Galleria

Customers at the Galleria Shopping Centre need to take care when parking motor vehicles in the vicinity of the Woolworths loading bay, in particular those who park in the bays set aside for collecting their post office box mail.

Galleria Shopping Centre management has recently positioned these bays so they are in the way of large Woolworths trucks trying to exit the car park.

Last week I watched a large prime mover and trailer open the side of my parked car like a sardine can as the driver tried to make a turn.

Aside from anything else, having trucks of this size in public car parks at this time of day (afternoon after school) gives rise to potential safety issues that should be looked at by Work Safe.

In the meantime, best to park at the Kmart/Coles end of the Galleria.
