As a serving soldier in the ADF, I was disgusted to see a picture of him sitting in the council chamber wearing an Australian Army World War I uniform, regardless of the argument for and against moving the Town of Bassendean war memorial.
His wearing an ADF uniform like a party hire dress-up to make a point was offensive and inappropriate. You earn the right to wear that uniform by enlisting and doing the hard yards.
Every time I put on my army uniform, it is with extreme pride and respect.
I voted for Cr Bridges at the recent council elections and expected better from him.
Don’t turn the council chamber into a circus and show a little respect for the residents of Bassendean.
