Developers in the infill business it’s really quite simple, if you don’t want a particular tree on the property you propose to develop, don’t buy that land.

The Norfolk Island pine on the corner of Burnside and Drake streets, referred to in last week’s front-page report, is too important to dispose of and must be retained.

All praise to Ian Hilton for bringing this to the attention of the citizens of Bayswater and the council.

Norfolk Island pines are so well regarded that on July 22 there will be a joint issue, first-day cover release of Australia/Norfolk Island stamps featuring the beautiful pine trees.

The drive down Riverside Gardens to the Swan River in Bayswater is looking magnificent with the glorious colours of the trees lining the drive.

Well done City of Bayswater for providing the public with this vision of splendour.
