Thanks to many

THE lights at Cumberland Way inBassendean will be missed this Christmas season. I have attended the Christmas displays every year.

People would visit until late in the night; children would shriek with delight as they flitted from one scene to another and the adults admired the obvious hours of work and thousands of lights it took to present the spectacular displays.

Yes, it will be sadly missed. But rather than Peggy and Harry Watzek thanking us (Lights turned off, Eastern Reporter, November 26) we, the many who over those many years have enjoyed a visit to Cumberland Way, thank them for the joy they have given us over the 16 years.

Perhaps we should also offer a thank you to the residents in the street who every year endured the hundreds of visitors in the street without ever complaining.
