THE population of Bassendean is only half what it takes to be a city.

However, don’t hold your breath; the present Bassendean council wants another five years before this planning even starts.

Moreover, there is no advertised period to improve community safety with better footpath lighting that, according to council staff, only comes with underground power.

Yet again, less than half the job is done.

Cr John Gangell has been Bassendean Mayor for more than five years. It’s time for a complete change in October's local government elections.
