Way forward

BEV Johnson, there is more than movies, markets and moving things to make a better community.

The crowded Bassendean council meeting on Tuesday with an extended question time highlighted the urgent worries of unsafe roads, unsociable behaviour, threats to local recreation clubs and trees, plus unwanted poor planning in areas usually reserved for families.

There is a way forward. More design staff and project support funding can advance Bassendean such as better transit-oriented development planning and underground services.

The tools to do it are already in place. Clean up and sell two contaminated Town-owned blocks a year

Moreover, the higher density conveniently close to the three stations generates more rates income to make it work.
