This beautiful memorial is at home where it is and serves the town well. What is the purpose of this move?
Would the money not be better spent improving the general appearance of the whole town from Eden Hill to Ashfield?
Jubilee Reserve bushland is so neglected that there are rivers of white bush sand where nothing grows because of the over-use of weedkillers.
Perhaps the money needed for this move would be better spent on the neglected parks of Bassendean.
Have the councillors forgotten that the Town will soon be joined with other councils to form a larger body?
Would it not be sound economic practice to wait until the matter of amalgamation is settled before wasting money on moving a perfectly good memorial?
What if the next council wanted to move it again? More waste?
