Family building quiet lifestyle at Austin Lakes

The Satterley Property Group 3000-lot estate’s close-knit community feel, adventure playgrounds, reputable private school, and the new shopping centre under construction ticked all the boxes for the young family of four.

“We both grew up in Perth and we got over the hustle-and-bustle lifestyle,” Mrs Glisenti said.

“My husband Graham and I didn’t want to raise our two sons, Liam and Max, in a stressed, fast-paced lifestyle.”

In 2012, the family moved to Coolup and rented a house on a 121ha farm, falling in love with the country lifestyle and realising they didn’t want to move back to Perth.

“While we can’t afford to buy our own farm, we were ready to build a place to call our own in a community like Austin Lakes, which is perfect to raise our family,” Mrs Glisenti said.

“I knew the boys would miss having endless paddocks to play in and if we were going to move to a house on a smaller property, we needed a community with lots of room to explore, all within walking distance from home.

“We’re also looking forward to becoming part of a community and meeting all our new neighbours and being able to walk to the park, school and the newly opened shops.”

Mrs Glisenti taught at Austin Cove Baptist College for three years before having their children.

Last month, the college officially opened its secondary campus to cater for the 600 students enrolled from kindergarten to Year 12. Satterley has donated almost $1 million of land for the 11ha school site.

The Glisentis are building a four-bedroom, two-bathroom home on a 580sq m block just metres from the $3.5 million Adventurescape farm-themed playground.

The 4ha park also has barbecue facilities, a large lakeside pavilion, picnic shelters and toilets.

“The kids love it there and it’s nice to know we can treat it as our own backyard,” Mrs Glisenti said. “We’re hoping to be in our new home mid next year and we can’t wait.”
