Last chance for buyers to get apartment in Parkside at Queens Park

Keren BellosEastern Reporter

HOMEBUYERS have one last chance to secure a quality apartment in Parkside at Queens Park, with the launch of the second and final stage.

Opposite Queens Park Regional Open Space and next to the Quattro Estate, the two-storey development features 86 one, two and three-bedroom apartments 12km from the Perth CBD.

It offers home ownership opportunities through the State Government’s Opening Doors WA program, which provides low to medium income earners with access to a low-fee mortgage for 80 per cent of their home’s purchase price.

Under the Department of Communities’ program, buyers can purchase the component held by the government in future years or stay in the shared equity arrangement until the home is sold.

The development’s first stage comprising 37 homes is almost sold out.

Burgess Rawson selling agent Sarah Calautti said stage two apartments were attracting strong interest, with several already under contract.

“The overwhelming majority of our buyers in stage one were owner-occupiers, with locals strongly represented,” she said.

“We also saw a lot of first-home buyers keen to secure an apartment as the shared equity program provides a fantastic opportunity for those looking to own their own home. It makes that dream more accessible.

“The interest from those buyers continues with stage two – locals who might be renting in the area and want to make the jump to home ownership, young families and couples, and we’ve even had some downsizers who have sold houses in Queens Park to take up the apartment lifestyle.”

Miss Calautti said the homes’ size made them suitable for a wide range of buyers.

“The apartments are very spacious and would be some of the biggest in the market in that price category,” she said.

“These apartments are brand new, complete and ready to move in to, which also adds to the appeal – there’s no waiting.”

The homes include double bedrooms with built-in robes, kitchens with stainless steel appliances and open-plan living spaces which flow out to private balconies or courtyards, some with parkland views.

They also feature well-appointed bathrooms, separate laundries and reverse-cycle air conditioning to living areas.

Secure pedestrian and parking gates to the complex provide privacy and security, and residents will also enjoy undercover parking and storage room.

Under the Opening Doors scheme, prices start from $180,000 for a one-bedroom apartment and $224,000 for a two-bedroom home, representing an 80 per cent share in the property.

Apartments available on a 100 per cent ownership basis start from $230,000 for a one-bedroom and $280,000 for a two-bedroom apartment.

Three-bedroom apartments at the development are sold out.
